Hajj date 2024: Saudi Arabia announces pilgrimage dates for Hajj and Eid Al Adha 2024

The Supreme Court Of Saudi Arabia has announced that the holy pilgrimage of Hajj will begin on June 14. Saudi Arabia announced that the crescent moon of Dhu al-Hijjah was sighted on Thursday evening, June 6. Therefore, Friday, June 7, will mark the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar.

Hajj 2024 date announced

The local news agency, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the final Islamic month will begin on 7th June, “The Supreme Court determined that Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar, would begin on Friday.”

The Hajj pilgrimage would start on June 4. Hajj is considered to be one of the five pillars of Islam. Followers of the religion with adequate means should undertake the pilgrimage at least once in their lives.

The high point of the pilgrimage occurs on the second day, which this year will be on June 15. On this day, pilgrims gather for prayers on Mount Arafat, the site where Prophet Mohammed delivered his final sermon.

Eid-ul-Adha (Bakra-Eid) date

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Eid al-Adha will fall on June 16 this year. In a statement on Thursday, the Saudi Supreme Court said, “Arafat Day falls on Saturday, June 15, while Sunday, June 16, will be the first day of Eid Al Adha.”
